UKZN InQubate is one of five units of the Research Division, alongside UKZN Libraries, Press, Research Finance, and the Research Office. The Research Division is a support arm of the university and falls under the custodianship of the DVC Research.
UKZN InQubate is instrumental in the achievement of the strategic goals of UKZN 2017-2021, a major focus of which is innovation and entrepreneurship.
It services the intellectual property, commercialisation, consultancy and entrepreneurship requirements of all four of the university’s colleges, being the College of Agriculture, Engineering & Science; the College of Health Sciences; the College of Humanities; and the College of Law & Management Studies spread across five campuses – Howard College, Westville, Pietermaritzburg, Edgewood and Medical School.
